Elizabeth C. “Clay” Doxey, MS, LCMHC LCAS MAC

Born Elizabeth, “Clay” hails from Columbia, South Carolina, and has lived in Wilmington since 1993. She holds an undergraduate degree in business management from North Carolina State University as well as a masters degree in substance abuse & clinical counseling and rehabilitation counseling from ECU. She is a Motivational Interviewing Trainer, Mental Health First Aid Trainer, and has done volunteer work in the women’s prison in Raleigh.

Clay has a special passion for women’s issues. She recognizes that women—and many men, too—are often wounded by the people they love. Many of them carry their wounds in the form of mood disorders, PTSD, substance abuse, and other ailments. Clay is an ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapist).  Her goal in psychotherapy is to help women identify their core values, practice mindfulness, and achieve both success and serenity.
